Breeding and Retirement

Horse breeding is an important aspect of game play and play-to-earn dynamics in Cyber Gallops. A horse that comes from a lineage of champions are commonly believed to have greater prospects of becoming a champion itself. A foal will be born when a male and female horse breed. The goal of selective breeding is to create a foal that inherits the greatest characteristics of its parents and develops into a desirable horse that can win prizes worth more than its purchase price or be sold for profit on the marketplace.

Both male and female horse owners must have $PACE in order to breed. A male horse must pay the stable owner Stable fees in $PACE and set his asking stud price in $PACE. When a male horse is selected for breeding, the stud fee is kept by the owner. The stud fee minus the stable fees paid would be his profit. Stable fees are only deducted if the breeding is successful.

To breed with a female horse, owner should first pick a male horse with the desired traits, then pay the stud fee in $PACE. Female horse owners get to keep the foal in return for the stud fee paid.

Horses, both male and female, may breed up to eight times in their lifetime.

There is a reward of in-game items such as vitamins, equipment, or material in exchange for retiring a horse. When a horse retires, the NFT is burnt and taken out of the system. This incentive for horse retirement mechanism counteracts the supply of horses from breeding.
